The Barron River, just 20 minutes north of Cairns, is ideal for an introduction to whitewater rafting. This course combines class 2 and 3 rapids, perfect for beginners or for those looking for a few hours of adventure and fun.
Your tour will start with a pick-up from one of the many meeting points located in the city center. After a short drive, you'll reach the starting point, nestled in the unique setting of Barron Gorge National Park.
Before you begin, you'll be given a comprehensive safety briefing to prepare you for the adventure. Once aboard the raft, you'll receive further instruction on paddling techniques, to familiarize you with the movements to adopt.
The descent will begin with gentler rapids, ideal for building confidence and adapting to the sensations of rafting. You'll then move on to more dynamic Class 3 rapids, including the famous Rooster Tail, which promises more intense and fun passages.
