Enjoy a private day trip with your family or friends to visit the Museum of Egyptian Civilization and the famous Pyramids of Giza accompanied by a local Egyptologist guide!
You'll be picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and go to the new National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), located in El Fustat, in the old part of Cairo. Officially inaugurated in April 2021, this huge museum will plunge you into the history of this unique civilisation, one of the oldest in the world, thanks to 50,000 exhibits gathered from various Egyptian museums. 22 mummies of ancient Egyptian kings and queens were moved from the Cairo Museum.
You'll then have lunch in a local restaurant (meal not included), recommended by your guide.
Afterwards, you'll get back on the road and head to the famous Giza Pyramids. During the drive, you can admire the breathtaking view of the Cheops, Khafre and Menkaure pyramids. At the entrance, you'll find the Great Sphinx which stands in front of the three pyramids.
For an extra charge, to be paid on the spot, you can go inside the Great Pyramid, an incredible, unique place.
Finally, your guide will take you to the Temple of the Valley of Khafre. This temple was intended to receive the pharaoh's body after his death, before being transported along the funerary route to his tomb inside the pyramid.
After this fascinating insight into Ancient Egypt, you'll be taken back to your hotel in central Cairo.
