There you will find the island's historical remains with a beautiful landscape facing the Pacific Ocean. You will then travel to the small Puna Pau volcano in the north of the island. Inside the crater, you will see pukao, hat-shaped structures made of red slag that are placed on the heads of the most imposing Moai statues on Easter Island.
The Moai (or mo'ai), are Easter Island's monumental statues. Dating from the 13th and 15th centuries, they are the most important expression of Rapa Nui sculptural art and have become the image of the island.
Your guide will take you to another archaeological site on the island, Ahu Akivi. It is located on the southwestern flank of the Maunga Terevaka volcano, which is the highest point on the island. You will see seven statues, all of them carefully uniform and all of them facing the ocean, unlike the others on the island. Before finishing your activity, you will go to the Ahu Huri a Urenga, a site that lies in the middle of the island. You will admire a huge statue which has the particularity of having two pairs of hands. You will return to your hotel at the end of the tour.
