Take a day long cruise aboard a catamaran and see Martinique’s Northern coast!
Leaving from Trois-Îlets, see the beautiful Fort-de-France bay and its commercial port with the "Pointe des Nègres" lighthouse that was a military fort in the 17th century. As you head north, keep an eye out for pods of dolphins who might approach the boat and swim alongside you! See the Carbet Mountains, the Fond Bellemare cliffs, and Mount Pelée, which is actually a volcano, and is 1,397m (4,583 ft.) high!
The catamaran will drop anchor at Saint-Pierre, the former capital, with its prestigious economic and cultural past. Set out on a guided visit of this city which was ravaged in 1902 by a volcanic eruption. At a fruit and vegetable market, taste local flavors before getting on a small boat. Follow the Carbet beach (where Christopher Columbus landed) to reach the Turin Cove beach, where visitors can swim.
On retouring to the catamaran, have a local lunch, which is prepared and served onboard. In the afternoon, the catamaran will take visitors to the Bellemare cove for a second chance to swim. Masks and snorkels are available onboard for those who wish to explore the marine environment. The boat will then return to Trois-Îlets.
