The trip begins with a visit to the city of Heidelberg. Your guide will take you to explore the ruins of Heidelberg Castle, a romantic vestige set overlooking the city, its pink bricks reflecting a warm light onto the whole area.
Enjoy a packed a lunch before you walk into the heart of the city to stroll among the Gothic and Renaissance-style buildings while admiring the small picturesque streets, timber-frame houses and pink-brick façades of this romantic city, which is also home to Germany’s oldest university.
Once you’ve explored Heidelberg, you’ll get back on the bus and set off for the Rhine Valley
Your guide will tell you more about the valley, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before you embark on a boat for a cruise down the Rhine. Along the river, you’ll be able to admire the picturesque villages, medieval castles and vineyards that have made the region world-famous.
After the cruise, you will make your way to a riverside restaurant to enjoy a traditional dinner before heading back to Frankfurt later in the evening.
