Explore Yosemite National Park for 2 days with an overnight stay in a lodge in Yosemite Valley!
Situated at an altitude of 1,200 metres, the valley's crest and troughs have incredible formations: El Capitan, Half Dome, Cathedral Rocks... The Merced River and magnificent waterfalls run through the valley. At about 740 metres high, the Yosemite Falls is the most breathtaking and highest waterfall in North America.
A must-see for nature lovers, Yosemite Valley is also a place steeped in history. You'll be accompanied by an experienced guide for the duration of your tour.
Day 1: Travel from San Francisco to Yosemite, Visit to Giat Sequoia Grove & Yosemite Valley
You'll be picked up from your hotel in San Francisco and driven to Yosemite. On the way, you'll get superb views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco skyline and Central Valley's fields. You'll stop on the way to buy a picnic lunch (not included) before heading to Yosemite National Park.
On arrival, you'll follow your guide for a hike to the Giant Sequoia Grove. Once there you'll be amazed by some of the tallest trees in the world! You'll get back in the people-carrier for a tour of the once glacial Yosemite Valley. You'll make several photo stops at the best spots (waterfalls, rocks...).
You'll then be driven close to Yosemite Lodge for some free time. Guests staying at Yosemite Lodge or Curry Village will be able to check in. You'll be free to explore the surrounding area at your own pace, and your guide will tell you about the various activities available. You'll have the rest of the day to yourself. You can join the group for dinner (not included) or continue exploring the park at your own pace. Guests staying at Cedar Lodge will be accompanied by the guide and dropped off at the end of the day.
Day 2: Free time in Yosemite, hike to El Capitan and return to San Francisco
You'll be driven with the group to Glacier Point, one of the park's highlights. You'll then be free to continue your day as you wish. You can go hiking, hire bikes, relax in one of the valley's bars or restaurants, or pop into the Visitor Centre. Feel free to ask your guide, who's an expert on the area, for ideas - they'll have plenty of suggestions!
In the middle of the afternoon, you'll rejoin the group and stop at El Capitan, another Yosemite must-see, for a final hike before returning to San Francisco. You'll be dropped back at your hotel at the end of the day.
