You will enjoy a private transfer (if option chosen) from your accommodation and head to Segesta, in western Sicily. Founded by the Elymians, the indigenous peoples of Sicily, and later inhabited by the Greeks, Segesta is an ancient site nestled in the middle of the countryside. Today, this site is a key part of Sicilian history and still has many secrets to reveal.
You will start your visit with the Greek temple, in Doric style, formed by 36 columns. Your guide will tell you about its history and the conflicts that slowed down its construction. You will then take a path to climb Mount Barbaro, this short walk will allow you to discover the wild landscapes surrounding the site. At the top, you will discover the splendid Segesta theatre. Stunningly preserved, this Greek theatre offers a 360-degree panorama of the valley, hills and sea.
You will be driven back to your accommodation (if option chosen) after the private tour of the mysterious Segesta.
