Leave Tokyo for a day to explore Mount Fuji and Hakone!

Leaving from Tokyo, this full-day coach tour will take you to Mount Fuji and around the Hakone region, which is famous for its hot springs.

After meeting up with your guide in the Shinjuku district, you'll leave Tokyo by coach and take the Subaru Line Scenic Road to reach the fifth station of Mount Fuji, one of ten stations that run from the mountain's foot to its summit. The fifth station is located halfway up the mountain: you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding area, without having to climb the 3,776 metres to the top.

At lunchtime you can enjoy a meal (optional) at a nearby restaurant.

After lunch, you'll head to Hakone, a resort known for its volcanic activity and natural hot springs. You'll board the Hakone cable car and travel over the Owakudani volcanic valley: from the comfort of the cabin, you can admire the fumaroles and sulphurous hot springs below, and may even catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji.

The visit to Hakone ends with a pirate boat cruise on Lake Ashi. If the weather is fine, you'll get a view of Mount Fuji.

At the end of the day, you'll be taken back to Tokyo (Shinjuku district) by coach.

An optional return trip by high-speed train (Shinkansen) is also available: you'll be dropped off by the coach at Odawara station near Hakone, and your guide will tell you how to catch a train back to Tokyo.

  • The tour operator reserves the right to cancel the activity if there aren't enough participants. If this is the case, you'll be offered an alternative date or a refund
  • Your guide may have to change the itinerary or miss out parts due to the weather or traffic conditions. The journey time between sites may be longer, and visits may be shorter than expected
  • If the Subaru Line Road is closed or congested, you'll visit one of the following places instead of Mt. Fuji's 5th Station:
    - Oshino Hakkai Village
    - Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine
    - Mt. Fuji Museum Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre
    - Oishi Park at Lake Kawaguchiko
    - Hana no Miyako Park at Lake Yamanakako
  • The Hakone Ropeway cable car and the pirate ship on Lake Ashi may be running on the day of your visit. Your guide will be able to choose another visit instead (cruise on Lake Kawaguchiko, Hakone Komagatake cable car, Mt. Fuji Panoramic cable car, Hakone-en aquarium, etc.)
  • No refunds will be offered if the itinerary is changed
  • This excursion is only available to foreign tourists and cannot be booked by Japanese nationals
  • The activity is free for children under 5 years of age. However, they will not be allocated seats on the coach and will have to sit on an adult's lap Similarly, lunch will not be provided. If you would like them to have a seat and a meal, please book the paid children's rate and select the lunch option
  • Mount Fuji may not be visible depending on the weather (humidity, fog, rain, etc.). No refunds or itinerary changes will be offered
  • The optional return train journey is unaccompanied. The guide will provide you with tickets and explain how to board your train
  • Train tickets are non-refundable if you miss your train in Odawara. You'll have the opportunity to board the next train to Tokyo but can only use the "non-reserved seats" section
  • Parts of the tour are at a high altitude (Mount Fuji 5th station, Owakudani), so we recommend you bring warm clothes.
