Dive into Tunisian history with a day trip to Testour and Dougga!
You'll be picked up from your hotel in Tunis aboard an air-conditioned vehicle. Accompanied by a licensed guide, you'll set off to discover historic sites.
After about two hours on the road, you'll arrive in Testour, a town founded by Andalusians in the 17th century. You'll explore its historic center with its authentic charm and visit the Great Mosque, known for its Hispano-Moorish-style minaret and clock that turns upside down. You can also stroll through the peaceful alleyways and admire the unique Andalusian architecture.
Late morning, you'll set off for Dougga, one of the best-preserved Roman archaeological sites in North Africa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During your guided tour, you'll discover remains such as the Capitol, a majestic temple dedicated to Jupiter, the Roman Theatre, which can seat 3,500 spectators, and the Baths of Caracalla, testimony to Roman refinement. You'll also explore the forums and dwellings, offering a captivating glimpse of ancient daily life.
A traditional lunch will be served at the Hotel Thugga, where you'll enjoy a typical dish (drinks not included).
After free time to enjoy the site at your own pace and immortalize these moments, you'll head back to Tunis in the late afternoon. You'll be dropped off at your hotel around 5:30 pm.
